Jet d'eau in the background. Installed in 1951, the Jet d'eau pushes 132 gallons of water per second to an altitude of 459 feet. It is situated near downtown Geneva along this inlet of the Rhone River. The Rhone River begins in the Swiss Alps near the border of Italy & flows through Lake Leman before proceeding south into France & out to the Mediterranean Sea at Marseille, France.

Geneva was a wonderful city to visit. A shame we only had one night there. It was however, VERY expensive! The Swiss franc is roughly equal to the US dollar. For dinner, I had a medium pizza, side of pasta & a beer at the cost of 50 francs with the tip.
There were many neat/old shops along the small side streets, as well as modern indoor & outdoor malls along the main roads. As expected, there were watch shops on nearly every corner! :)
I truly hope we return to Geneva soon & get to stay longer.
